Hey sports fans, welcome back to my sports and fitness blog. I’ve got some interesting news from the mixed martial arts world today-Brock Lesnar is retiring from the UFC again. While nothing has come out of Lesnar’s mouth for once, a UFC spokesperson has confirmed Lesnar is no longer fighting on their roster. For those who don’t recall, Lesnar retired in 2011 and came out of retirement for a fight with Mark Hunt at UFC 200 last year, but failed two drug tests prior to the fight. Lesnar tested positive for the banned substance clomiphene and was banned by the USFDA for one year as a result. By officially retiring from the UFC, Lesnar has also removed himself from the USFDA drug testing pool as the UFC required all fighters to be in said pool. If Lesnar were to for some reason mount yet another comeback into the UFC he would have to serve out the remainder of his ban first, which stands at 5 months.
The next move for Lesnar seems to be the WWE, as he is set to fight Goldberg at Wrestlemania 33 on April 2nd. Lesnar has been uncharacteristically quiet during this whole time, and at 39 years old after bouncing around fighting leagues for the past decade it might be a good idea. Lesnar was once a great fighter and one of the best heavyweights in the UFC, but a string of bad decisions along with fighting father time has made him into a shell of his former self. Hopefully he manages to make something for himself out of this stint in the WWE, it has worked for other before. Whatever happens, I wish him luck in his endeavours and ask that he please not illegally shoot any more deer in Canada.
