Hey there sports fans, welcome to the inaugural post of my sports and fitness blog. Not too long ago America was host to one of the largest and most watched sporting events in the world, the Super Bowl. This year the Super Bowl was played in Houston, Texas and featuring the New England Patriots returning to the big game for the 7th time in 14 years taking on the Atlanta Falcons who had been to only one Super Bowl prior to this year. The game featured a duel between New England quarterback Tom Brady who is one the most winningest players of all time and Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan who managed to finally capture the league MVP award this season after years of a lackluster supporting cast pulling him down.
The game started of in Atlanta’s favour, with Matt Ryan leading the offense to score in the second quarter after both teams were kept out of the endzone in the first. The Falcons steadily built onto their lead until the fourth quarter, when New England turned on the burners. After a late score in the third, New England scored 25 unanswered points including the game winning touchdown in overtime. Tom Brady was named Super Bowl MVP, and with the win became the owner of over a dozen Super Bowl records including most wins by a starting player and most as a quarterback. This pretty much ensured Tom Brady will be a first ballot MVP when he finally retires, although he recently made it known that he is not even considering it. The best part of the game though was Robert Alford picking off Tom Brady and returning it 82 yards for a touchdown, the first time Brady has ever thrown a pick six in the Super Bowl. Take that you magnificent bastard.
